Staff Engineer – SME Membranes

πŸ“‹ Description

β€’ Act as the enterprise subject matter expert for membrane separation technologies.

β€’ Provide technical leadership for applications involving RO, UF, NF, and MF.

β€’ Lead technical evaluations of significant capital projects that incorporate membrane systems.

β€’ Serve as the ultimate technical authority for engineering decisions related to membranes.

β€’ Support strategic choices concerning the design, technology selection, and optimization of membrane systems.

β€’ Make informed technical decisions in uncertain or high-risk scenarios.

β€’ Engage in concept development, feasibility studies, and engineering design assessments.

β€’ Review process designs and vendor submissions for membrane systems.

β€’ Assist in Operational Excellence initiatives that address complex issues related to membrane performance, reliability, and capacity.

β€’ Identify opportunities for optimizing membrane systems.

β€’ Establish and uphold enterprise standards for membrane system design and operation.

β€’ Ensure compliance with standards in collaboration with Engineering Governance and promote adoption throughout the network.

β€’ Monitor and assess emerging membrane technologies.

β€’ Evaluate new technologies for potential product platforms, competitive edge, quality, cost, or functional enhancements.


⛳️ Requirements

β€’ Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Chemical Engineering preferred).

β€’ Over 10 years of experience in process engineering for membrane systems and/or capital project development and execution.

β€’ Proven experience in developing technical standards and specifications.

β€’ Demonstrated proficiency in membrane system design, operation, troubleshooting, and optimization.

β€’ Strong knowledge of dairy processing.

β€’ Excellent organizational and communication skills; capable of influencing technical decisions across various facilities and stakeholder groups.

β€’ Experience in facilitating technical reviews and ensuring follow-up actions are taken.

β€’ Background in supporting capital projects.

β€’ Experience in implementing standards and managing change effectively to guarantee adoption.

β€’ Familiarity with whey processing, protein concentration, and dairy ingredient manufacturing.

β€’ Experience collaborating with leading membrane system suppliers and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).

β€’ Willingness to travel: 50%.
