Staff Engineer, People Technology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the design, development, and upkeep of automation and integration systems for people across Workato, Google Cloud Platform, Claude, Workday, Greenhouse, and GitLab.

• Create and sustain integrations between Workday, Greenhouse, Slack, and internal tools utilizing Workday Web Services (WWS) and Slack's API and Bot SDK.

• Write, version, and manage automation code in Ruby (or similar scripting languages) that is stored in GitLab.

• Design and oversee Slack applications and bots that facilitate intuitive, automated workflows.

• Go beyond superficial requests to identify underlying issues and collaboratively design automation solutions.

• Act as the subject matter expert on Workato automation architecture.

• Enhance and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment practices for people system automation.

• Utilize AI tools, large language models (LLMs), and Model Context Protocol (MCP) frameworks to expedite the automation development process.

• Offer technical guidance to colleagues and stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Practical experience in writing and maintaining code in Ruby or a similar scripting language.

• Extensive knowledge of Workato or a similar enterprise automation/integration platform.

• Strong proficiency in integrating with Workday using Workday Web Services (WWS).

• Experience in building Slack applications and automations using Slack's API and Bot SDK.

• Expertise in Git and GitLab for version control, code review, and CI/CD processes.

• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or AWS; experience with Docker and Kubernetes (GKE is advantageous).

• Experience connecting HR systems such as Workday, Greenhouse, and internal tools.

• Comfort with AI tools and MCP frameworks.
