Staff Engineer, Generative AI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +2 more locations.

📋 Description

• Comprehend client business use cases and technical needs, translating them into technical designs.

• Align decisions with requirements and interpret them for developers.

• Identify and refine solution alternatives that fulfill client specifications.

• Establish guidelines and benchmarks for non-functional requirements during the implementation phase.

• Draft and assess design documents that encompass application architecture, frameworks, and high-level designs.

• Evaluate architecture and design concerning extensibility, scalability, security, design patterns, user experience, and non-functional requirements.

• Create and design comprehensive solutions addressing both functional and non-functional requirements.

• Specify technologies, patterns, and frameworks for implementation.

• Leverage technology integration insights in projects.

• Troubleshoot code and review issues through thorough root-cause analysis.

• Conduct proofs of concept to confirm proposed designs and technologies.

• Architect and implement scalable GenAI and Agentic AI solutions from start to finish.

• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to transform business needs into AI-driven solutions.

• Deploy AI systems on Azure or AWS.

• Develop and expose FastAPI APIs that are integrated with databases via an ORM.

• Scale GenAI solutions to accommodate enterprise workloads.

⛳️ Requirements

• Overall experience: 6+ years.

• In-depth knowledge of LLMs and Transformer architectures.

• Advanced prompt engineering abilities and demonstrated experience with RAG patterns.

• High proficiency in Python and AI/ML libraries such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, LangGraph, LangSmith, Hugging Face Transformers, Scikit-learn, and PyTorch/TensorFlow.

• Experience with RAG architectures and prompt engineering.

• Strong background in fine-tuning, distillation, and evaluation techniques.

• Significant experience utilizing managed AI/ML services like Azure Machine Learning Studio or AI Foundry.

• Solid understanding of vector databases such as Weaviate and Neo4j.

• Knowledge of GenAI evaluation metrics, including BLEU, ROUGE, perplexity, semantic similarity, and human evaluation.

• Production-ready Python coding, testing, and maintainability practices.

• Experience in productionizing AI systems on Azure or AWS.

• Experience in building APIs with FastAPI and integrating databases via an ORM.

• Experience in scaling GenAI solutions for enterprise workloads.

• Proven production experience with GenAI deployments on Azure or AWS.

• Strong experience in scaling AI solutions in live environments.

• Exceptional Python programming skills with a history of clean, efficient, maintainable code.

• Successfully delivered at least one production GenAI/Agentic AI solution.

• Proficient with FastAPI and at least one ORM, such as SQLAlchemy or Tortoise ORM.

• Familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP).

• Contributions to open-source GenAI projects.

• Experience with React or another JavaScript framework is a plus.

• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
