Senior Staff Engineer, Generative AI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +2 more locations.

📋 Description

• Comprehend clients’ business use cases and technical specifications, transforming them into technical designs.

• Align decisions with requirements and convey them to developers.

• Evaluate alternative solutions and choose the most suitable one for client needs.

• Establish guidelines and benchmarks for non-functional requirements throughout project execution.

• Draft and assess design documents that encompass application architecture, frameworks, and high-level design.

• Analyze architecture and design for extensibility, scalability, security, design patterns, user experience, and non-functional specifications.

• Create and devise solutions addressing both functional and non-functional requirements.

• Specify technologies, patterns, and frameworks for implementation.

• Grasp technology integration scenarios and apply insights in projects.

• Investigate code and review issues using systematic root-cause analysis, justifying decisions made.

• Conduct proofs of concept to validate suggested designs and technologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• A total of 8+ years of experience.

• Profound understanding of LLMs and Transformer architectures.

• Expert-level skills in prompt engineering with a proven track record in implementing RAG patterns.

• High proficiency in Python and standard AI/ML libraries including LangChain, LlamaIndex, LangGraph, LangSmith, Hugging Face Transformers, Scikit-learn, and PyTorch/TensorFlow.

• Extensive experience with RAG architectures and prompt engineering.

• Significant experience in fine-tuning, distillation techniques, and evaluation.

• Strong background in utilizing managed AI/ML services on Azure or AWS.

• Solid understanding of vector databases like Weaviate and Neo4j.

• Knowledge of GenAI evaluation metrics, such as BLEU, ROUGE, perplexity, semantic similarity, and human evaluation.

• Capability to write high-quality, production-ready Python code with robust testing and maintainability practices.

• Ability to deploy AI systems on Azure or AWS.

• Skill in building and exposing APIs using FastAPI and integrating databases via an ORM.

• Competence in scaling GenAI solutions for enterprise workloads.

• Demonstrated production experience with GenAI deployments on Azure or AWS.

• Extensive experience in scaling AI solutions in live environments.

• Very strong Python programming abilities with a history of clean, efficient, maintainable code.

• Successfully delivered at least one production GenAI/Agentic AI solution.

• Proficiency with FastAPI and at least one ORM, such as SQLAlchemy or Tortoise ORM.

• Familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP).

• Contributions to open-source GenAI projects.

• Experience with React or another JavaScript framework is considered a plus.

• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
