Senior Staff Engineer – Generative AI, NLP

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Comprehend client business use cases and technical specifications, transforming them into technical designs.

• Align decisions with requirements and communicate them effectively to developers.

• Identify and refine solutions that best satisfy client needs.

• Establish guidelines and benchmarks for non-functional requirements throughout project execution.

• Create and evaluate design documents that encompass architecture, frameworks, and high-level application design.

• Assess architecture and design for extensibility, scalability, security, design patterns, user experience, and non-functional requirements.

• Develop and design solutions addressing both functional and non-functional requirements.

• Specify technologies, patterns, and frameworks for implementation.

• Grasp technology integration scenarios and apply insights in projects.

• Troubleshoot code and review issues through systematic root-cause analysis and provide rationale for decisions.

• Conduct proofs of concept to validate proposed designs and technologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of total experience.

• Profound understanding of LLMs, including GPTs, Llama, Claude, Gemini, Qwen, Mistral, and BERT-family models.

• Familiarity with Transformer architectures.

• Advanced prompt engineering skills with demonstrated experience in implementing RAG patterns.

• High proficiency in Python and AI/ML libraries such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, LangGraph, LangSmith, Hugging Face Transformers, Scikit-learn, and PyTorch/TensorFlow.

• Experience in implementing RAG architectures and prompt engineering.

• Strong expertise in fine-tuning, distillation techniques, and evaluation.

• Significant experience with managed AI/ML services like Azure Machine Learning Studio or AI Foundry.

• Robust understanding of vector databases such as Weaviate and Neo4j.

• Proficient in constructing complex Deep Learning and GenAI pipelines.

• Experience in computer vision, Deep Learning, NLP, and GenAI technology stacks.

• Comprehension of GenAI evaluation metrics, including BLEU, ROUGE, perplexity, semantic similarity, and human assessment.

• Capability to architect and implement scalable GenAI and Agentic AI solutions from start to finish.

• Proficient in writing production-ready Python code following strong testing and maintainability practices.

• Ability to deploy AI systems on Azure or AWS.

• Skill in building and exposing APIs using FastAPI and integrating with databases through an ORM.

• Capacity to scale GenAI solutions for enterprise workloads.

• Strong aptitude for architecting and coding GenAI/Agentic AI solutions.

• Proven experience in production deployments of GenAI on Azure.

• Extensive experience in scaling AI solutions in live environments.

• Exceptional Python programming skills, with a history of producing clean, efficient, and maintainable code.

• Successfully delivered at least one production GenAI/Agentic AI solution.

• Proficient with FastAPI and at least one ORM, such as SQLAlchemy or Tortoise ORM.

• Familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP).

• Contributions to open-source GenAI projects are a plus.

• Experience with React or other JavaScript frameworks for user-facing interfaces and front-end integrations is a bonus.

• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
