Staff Engineer, Generative AI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Comprehend clients’ business use cases and technical needs, transforming them into technical designs.

• Align decisions with requirements and communicate them effectively to developers.

• Explore alternative solutions and determine the optimal choice for client specifications.

• Establish guidelines and benchmarks for non-functional requirements during project execution.

• Draft and assess design documents that encompass application architecture, frameworks, and high-level designs.

• Evaluate architecture and design for extensibility, scalability, security, design patterns, user experience, and non-functional requirements.

• Create and design comprehensive solutions for both functional and non-functional requirements.

• Specify technologies, patterns, and frameworks for implementation.

• Grasp technology integration scenarios and apply insights to projects.

• Address code and review issues through systematic root-cause analysis and support decisions.

• Conduct proofs of concept to validate suggested designs and technologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Total experience: 6+ years.

• Profound understanding of LLMs and Transformer architectures.

• Advanced prompt engineering skills and demonstrated experience in implementing RAG patterns.

• High proficiency in Python and standard AI/ML libraries, including LangChain, LlamaIndex, LangGraph, LangSmith, Hugging Face Transformers, Scikit-learn, and PyTorch/TensorFlow.

• Experience in implementing RAG architectures and prompt engineering.

• Strong background in fine-tuning, distillation techniques, and evaluation.

• Significant experience utilizing managed AI/ML services on cloud platforms, such as Azure Machine Learning Studio and AI Foundry.

• Solid understanding of vector databases, such as Weaviate and Neo4j.

• Knowledge of GenAI evaluation metrics, including BLEU, ROUGE, perplexity, semantic similarity, and human evaluation.

• Capability to architect and implement scalable GenAI and Agentic AI solutions from start to finish.

• Competence in writing high-quality, production-ready Python code with strong testing and maintainability practices.

• Ability to deploy AI systems on Azure or AWS.

• Skill in building and exposing APIs using FastAPI, integrating with databases through an ORM.

• Capacity to scale GenAI solutions for enterprise workloads.

• Proven experience with GenAI deployments in production environments on Azure or AWS.

• Extensive experience in scaling AI solutions within live environments.

• Exceptional Python programming skills with a history of producing clean, efficient, and maintainable code.

• Successfully delivered at least one production GenAI/Agentic AI solution.

• Proficiency with FastAPI and at least one ORM, such as SQLAlchemy or Tortoise ORM.

• Familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP).

• Contributions to open-source GenAI projects.

• Experience with React or another JavaScript framework is a plus.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
