Senior Staff Engineer, Generative AI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Comprehend clients' business use cases and technical needs, transforming them into technical designs.

• Align decisions with requirements and convey them to developers.

• Explore various solutions and select the optimal option to meet client specifications.

• Establish guidelines and benchmarks for non-functional requirements during project execution.

• Draft and evaluate design documents detailing application architecture, frameworks, and high-level designs.

• Assess architecture and design for extensibility, scalability, security, design patterns, user experience, and non-functional requirements.

• Create and design solutions addressing both functional and non-functional requirements.

• Specify technologies, patterns, and frameworks for implementation.

• Grasp technology integration scenarios and apply insights to projects.

• Troubleshoot code and review issues through systematic root-cause analysis, justifying decisions made.

• Conduct proofs of concept to validate proposed designs and technologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years of total experience.

• Profound understanding of LLMs and Transformer architectures.

• Expert-level skills in prompt engineering with a proven track record of implementing RAG patterns.

• High proficiency in Python and standard AI/ML libraries, including LangChain, LlamaIndex, LangGraph, LangSmith, Hugging Face Transformers, Scikit-learn, and PyTorch/TensorFlow.

• Strong experience with RAG architectures and prompt engineering techniques.

• Extensive experience with fine-tuning, distillation methods, and evaluation processes.

• Significant experience utilizing managed AI/ML services, such as Azure Machine Learning Studio and AI Foundry.

• Robust understanding of vector databases, including Weaviate and Neo4j.

• Familiarity with GenAI evaluation metrics, such as BLEU, ROUGE, perplexity, semantic similarity, and human evaluation.

• Capability to architect and implement scalable GenAI and Agentic AI solutions from start to finish.

• Proficient in writing production-ready Python code with strong testing and maintainability practices.

• Ability to productionize AI systems on Azure or AWS platforms.

• Skill in building and exposing APIs using FastAPI and integrating databases through an ORM.

• Competence in scaling GenAI solutions for enterprise-level workloads.

• Proven experience with GenAI deployments on Azure or AWS in a production environment.

• Extensive experience scaling AI solutions in live settings.

• Exceptional Python programming abilities with a history of producing clean, efficient, and maintainable code.

• Successfully delivered at least one production-grade GenAI/Agentic AI solution.

• Proficient with FastAPI and at least one ORM, such as SQLAlchemy or Tortoise ORM.

• Familiarity with the Model Context Protocol (MCP).

• Contributions to open-source GenAI projects.

• Experience with React or other JavaScript frameworks for user-facing interfaces and front-end integrations is a plus.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
