Staff Engineer, Full Stack – Trust, Safety & Risk

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North America.

📋 Description

• Develop real-time risk management and decision-making systems for ACH, debit cards, onramps, off-ramps, and various money transfer experiences.

• Create signals, models, and product interventions aimed at detecting fraudulent wallets, transactions, applications, and user behavior.

• Construct scalable systems for KYC, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, case management, and auditing.

• Design pipelines and tools that integrate on-chain activities, product data, and third-party signals into actionable risk insights.

• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to incorporate safeguards into new features.

• Develop internal tools for the Risk, Compliance, Support, and Security teams to investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.

• Assist in establishing the technical foundations and engineering culture for a new, high-impact function.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

• Over 8 years of full-time software engineering experience.

• Proven experience in designing and operating reliable, data-intensive production systems.

• Strong product judgment with the ability to balance user experience, financial risk, and operational complexity.

• Capacity to work across frontend, backend, APIs, data pipelines, and third-party integrations.

• A demonstrated interest in user protection and the development of trustworthy financial products.

• Proficiency in the English language.

• Preferred: Experience in fraud, risk, identity, KYC, AML, sanctions, payments, fintech, or blockchain systems.
