Staff Engineer, ERP Workday Extend Integration

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support comprehensive Workday integrations across HCM, Payroll, Financials, and Talent.

• Create and maintain intricate integrations utilizing Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, Cloud Connect, Workday Web Services, SOAP, REST, and RaaS.

• Establish and support both inbound and outbound integrations with payroll providers, benefits carriers, ATS systems, financial platforms, data warehouses, and external applications.

• Design and develop custom applications and extensions through Workday Extend.

• Enhance native Workday business processes using Workday Orchestrate and the Business Process Framework.

• Leverage Workday AI and automation capabilities to optimize business processes, integration workflows, and reporting solutions.

• Create complex data transformations using XSLT, XPath, Groovy, calculated fields, and Workday Custom Reports.

• Configure and support PECI and other payroll/financial interface protocols.

• Develop advanced Workday reports, including matrix and composite reports, calculated fields, and RaaS endpoints.

• Design and implement secure integration solutions employing ISUs, security groups, security policies, X.509 certificates, OAuth 2.0, and API access policies.

• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize production integrations.

• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive measures.

• Collaborate with Workday functional teams across HCM, Payroll, Financials, Talent, and ATS.

• Facilitate technical design sessions and produce integration design documents, technical specifications, and implementation documentation.

• Review peer solutions and offer technical advice on architecture, coding standards, security, performance, and maintainability.

• Assist in Workday semi-annual release cycles and coordinate regression testing.

• Manage integration event monitoring, alerting, and log analysis.

• Aid in packaging and promoting Workday configurations, integrations, and Extend applications across Workday tenants.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and high-quality delivery.

• Mentor junior integration developers and contribute to the sharing of technical knowledge.

• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 6+ years of total experience.

• Significant hands-on experience in Workday Integration development and support.

• Practical experience with Workday Extend, encompassing custom business objects, custom fields, custom APIs, orchestrations, and UI/App Builder pages.

• Advanced proficiency in Workday Studio, including complex multi-step integrations, XSLT/XPath transformations, Groovy scripting, error handling, and custom logging.

• Strong experience with Workday EIB, covering inbound/outbound integrations, custom transformations, scheduling, and troubleshooting.

• Extensive experience with Workday Core Connectors and Cloud Connect for payroll, benefits, and third-party integrations.

• In-depth experience with Workday Web Services, including SOAP/WWS, REST APIs, RaaS, API versioning, and deprecation management.

• Strong understanding of Workday Orchestrate and Business Process Framework.

• Working knowledge of PECI and experience in supporting US Payroll and payroll/benefits-related integrations.

• Proficient in Workday security configuration, including ISUs, security groups, domain and business process security policies, X.509 certificates, OAuth 2.0, and SAML.

• Strong background in Workday reporting, including advanced, matrix, and composite reports, calculated fields, and RaaS.

• Familiarity with Workday Prism Analytics.

• Exposure to Workday AI and automation capabilities, including Workday Illuminate, AI Gateway, Agents, and machine learning-driven features.

• Experience integrating Workday with third-party systems and middleware like MuleSoft.

• Strong skills in XSLT, XPath, Groovy, and complex data transformation and mapping.

• Experience with integration monitoring, alerting, logging, performance tuning, and production troubleshooting.

• Proven experience supporting Workday semi-annual releases, impact assessments, regression testing, and remediation.

• Experience in packaging and promoting Workday integrations and configurations across multiple tenants.

• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

• Experience working in Agile environments and managing multiple priorities/projects concurrently.

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
