This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Design, architect, and manage a highly available, scalable, secure, and resilient cloud platform infrastructure.
• Lead initiatives for platform modernization utilizing cloud-native technologies and automation frameworks.
• Define and execute strategies for platform reliability, observability, disaster recovery, and capacity management.
• Troubleshoot comprehensive service delivery issues across cloud infrastructure, network services, OLT/ONT environments, and customer-facing applications.
• Enhance service availability, latency, throughput, and operational efficiency in collaboration with engineering teams.
• Design, deploy, and manage NATS messaging infrastructure for distributed microservices.
• Configure and optimize HAProxy for load balancing, high availability, traffic routing, SSL termination, and performance enhancements.
• Develop scalable service communication frameworks utilizing event-driven architectures.
• Implement service discovery, fault tolerance, and resiliency patterns.
• Design and oversee GCP services including GKE, Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Cloud SQL, and Composer/Airflow.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code through Terraform and Terragrunt.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning, deployment, compliance, and operational workflows.
• Create reusable platform services to facilitate rapid application deployment.
• Design and maintain enterprise-scale CI/CD pipelines.
• Automate software delivery processes using Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or similar tools.
• Enhance developer productivity via platform engineering and self-service capabilities.
• Implement monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch, VictoriaMetrics/VictoriaLogs, and GCP Monitoring.
• Promote proactive incident prevention and operational excellence.
• Conduct root cause analyses for critical platform and network incidents.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, SRE, Network Operations, TAC, and Customer Success teams.
• Mentor engineers on cloud technologies, networking, platform reliability, and telecom architectures.
• Develop technical roadmaps and drive strategic platform initiatives.
• Contribute to standards, best practices, design reviews, and architecture governance.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Telecommunications, or equivalent practical experience.
• Over 8 years of experience in designing and operating large-scale distributed systems in production settings.
• More than 5 years of hands-on experience with public cloud platforms, with a preference for Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Extensive experience with Kubernetes and containerized platforms.
• In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, routing and switching, NAT, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, VPN technologies, and load balancing.
• Practical experience with HAProxy configuration, tuning, troubleshooting, and high availability deployments.
• Direct experience with NATS messaging systems and event-driven architectures.
• Background in supporting telecom and broadband infrastructure including OLTs, ONTs, routers, and access network technologies.
• Experience in implementing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Proficient in Python, Go, Bash, or similar scripting/programming languages.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps platforms.
• Experience in monitoring, telemetry, and observability frameworks.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and incident management capabilities.
• Preferred: experience in broadband access networks, PON technologies, and service provider environments.
• Preferred: knowledge of Kubernetes networking and service mesh technologies.
• Preferred: experience with Kafka, Redis, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, and distributed databases.
• Preferred: understanding of security best practices in cloud and telecom environments.
• Preferred: Google Cloud Professional Certification(s).
• Preferred: experience in SRE, Platform Engineering, or Telecom Cloud Operations teams.
