This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Facilitate AWS MAP Assess and Mobilize initiatives from initial discovery to comprehensive executive and technical recommendations.
• Assess business objectives, organizational readiness, application inventories, infrastructure, dependencies, security, compliance, costs, licensing, and migration risks.
• Verify discovery data and suggest workload allocations, migration clusters, pilot projects, phases, and inputs for business cases.
• Craft secure, resilient, and cost-effective target architectures and landing zones for AWS and AWS GovCloud.
• Establish requirements for multi-account setups, identity management, networking, security, observability, backup, recovery, governance, automation, hybrid connectivity, and operational models.
• Develop architecture diagrams and decision records that document alternatives, constraints, trade-offs, assumptions, and risks.
• Create actionable roadmaps that include workstreams, responsible parties, milestones, dependencies, estimates, and acceptance criteria.
• Formulate migration and modernization strategies, workload patterns, wave plans, testing procedures, cutover strategies, rollback plans, and validation methods.
• Plan and support pilot projects to validate architecture, connectivity, security, tooling, and operational assumptions.
• Generate implementation-ready handoff packages and guide delivery teams through designs, sequencing, risks, and acceptance criteria.
• Review estimates and implementation plans; act as the architectural authority for high-risk decisions and readiness evaluations.
• Construct or validate AWS proof-of-concept environments and infrastructure as code.
• Evaluate account structures, identity management, connectivity, DNS, security, logging, monitoring, backup, recovery, and migration tools.
• Address complex design and migration planning challenges, assess partner contributions, and develop reusable patterns and standards.
• Identify MAP opportunities and outline proposal and statement-of-work scope, assumptions, staffing, timelines, deliverables, and acceptance criteria.
• Collaborate with customers, AWS, distributors, and specialized partners while ensuring accurate and auditable program documentation.
• Establish repeatable methods, templates, architectural patterns, quality standards, and handoff procedures.
• Conduct peer reviews of delivery artifacts, maintain evidence and decisions, ensure partner transparency and knowledge transfer, and mentor internal engineers.
• Active AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional certification.
• A minimum of eight years in infrastructure or cloud architecture, systems engineering, application migration, professional services, or related technical delivery, including at least five recent years of practical AWS experience.
• Demonstrated leadership in AWS MAP Assess engagements and the architecture and planning components of MAP Mobilize engagements.
• Experience in generating portfolio assessments, inputs for business cases, target architectures, migration strategies, wave plans, roadmaps, and implementation-ready handoffs.
• Hands-on experience with production migration and pilots, covering landing zones, multi-account environments, identity management, hybrid networking, security, observability, backup, recovery, governance, migration tools, and infrastructure as code.
• In-depth knowledge of Windows, Linux, VMware, networking, storage, identity management, relational databases, backup solutions, monitoring, and hybrid-cloud integration.
• Capability to lead executive and technical workshops and produce clear diagrams, plans, estimates, decisions, and recommendations.
• Strong skills in technical writing, analysis, presentation, facilitation, troubleshooting, estimation, and risk communication.
• Willingness to travel as necessary.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Must meet applicable public-sector background, public trust, or clearance requirements.
• Preferred: Additional AWS Professional or Specialty certifications and experience with MAP Migrate/Modernize.
• Preferred: Experience with AWS GovCloud and in public-sector or regulated industries, including NIST, FedRAMP, FISMA, StateRAMP, CJIS, HIPAA, or PCI DSS.
• Preferred: Familiarity with major enterprise platforms, AWS migration and governance services, dependency mapping, cloud economics, licensing, FinOps, and total cost of ownership.
• Preferred: Experience in consulting, professional services, customer-facing architecture, senior presales, reusable delivery methods, or partner-led teams.
