Staff Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, test, and enhance Akuity’s SaaS platform.

• Create server-side applications utilizing Go.

• Collaborate with designers and engineers to conceive, implement, and deliver features that streamline infrastructure operations.

• Offer technical leadership and architectural direction across complex, high-impact initiatives.

• Mentor engineers and promote engineering best practices throughout the organization.

• Ensure that the rapidly expanding SaaS platform remains scalable and developer-focused.

⛳️ Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in software development.

• 4+ years of experience in developing scalable web applications using Golang.

• Proven experience in building Kubernetes controllers or operators at scale in AWS, GCP, Azure, or on-premises environments.

• Strong enthusiasm for intricate technical products, especially SaaS, IaaS, and PaaS.

• In-depth understanding of systems design, API design, and infrastructure.

• Documented experience in leading the architecture and technical direction of complex, distributed systems.

• Experience with relational databases such as Postgres or MySQL.

• Interest in creating an exceptional end-to-end developer experience.

• Outstanding communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

• Ability to sway technical decisions across teams.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

• Must reside within US time zones (Pacific through Eastern), including Canada and other regions.

• Strong advantage: experience with Argo CD, Kargo, or GitOps-based delivery workflows.

• Strong advantage: familiarity with multi-region, multi-cluster Kubernetes deployments.

• Strong advantage: experience with compliance-related infrastructure, including SOC 2, ISO 27001, ISO 28000:2022, HIPAA, or PCI DSS.

• Strong advantage: background in managing infrastructure for platform or developer tooling companies.
