Staff Developer Advocate – Leadership

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Act as the primary technical storyteller for high-level technical executive audiences.

• Lead the strategy and implementation of first-party technical event content initiatives, including DASH and Datadog Summits.

• Establish and manage executive-level advocacy initiatives for technical audiences.

• Represent Datadog’s perspective at various events and conferences.

• Collaborate with and mentor product and engineering leaders on public communication and presentation skills.

• Convey leadership insights regarding Datadog solutions, engineering culture, and industry developments.

• Collaborate with event organizers to curate engaging content for attendees.

• Produce demos, presentations, blogs, documentation, webinars, open-source materials, research reports, and additional resources.

• Offer product insights, including bug reports and suggestions for enhancements.


⛳️ Requirements

• Around 5+ years of experience as a software developer, SRE, or similar role.

• Approximately 8+ years of experience in a senior technical leadership position.

• About 3+ years of experience in storytelling and crafting engaging content.

• Availability of writing samples, blog posts, demos, or recordings of technical presentations in the public domain.

• Experience in coaching and empowering others to present publicly and deliver impactful talks, particularly for technical executive audiences.

• Background in working on technical conferences or events, either as a collaborator or organizer.

• Proactive pursuit of learning and understanding new technologies and programming languages.
