This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take full ownership and manage the OpenRouter Discord channel from start to finish.
• Conceptualize and execute Discord-specific events, giveaways, and challenges.
• Develop and expand programs for recognizing contributors and helpers.
• Recruit, onboard, and provide support for community moderators.
• Create non-monetary recognition and benefits for moderators.
• Monitor community sentiment regarding OpenRouter, its models, and the wider AI landscape.
• Continuously report on community feedback to the team.
• Build and sustain automations that highlight community sentiment, trends, and signals.
• Collaborate with the events team to develop scalable playbooks, resources, and support for community-driven events.
• Enhance community presence on Twitter/X, Reddit, and other social media platforms.
• Translate community feedback, bug reports, and sentiment into actionable insights for engineering, product, and design teams.
• Close the feedback loop regarding product issues with the community.
• Work alongside marketing and DevRel on community-focused campaigns, launches, and content.
• Establish a consistent schedule of Discord events, challenges, and giveaways.
• Cultivate a robust moderator team with defined roles, recognition, and benefits.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in community management, developer community engagement, or a similar field.
• Proven experience managing Discord communities (or similar platforms) at a significant scale, including events, programs, and moderation.
• Practical experience with building and utilizing LLMs and their APIs; familiarity with shipping projects using them; capable of writing sample code and discussing model trade-offs, harnesses, and techniques with developers.
• Personable, humble, and easily approachable.
• Awareness of environments where AI developers congregate and current community trends.
• Excellent written communication skills across Discord, Twitter/X, and Reddit.
• Background in designing contributor, ambassador, or moderator programs.
• Experience organizing online events, hackathons, giveaways, or community challenges.
• A 1:n mindset focused on scalable programs and systems.
• Self-motivated and entrepreneurial; capable of identifying problems, finding leverage, and executing independently.
• Comfortable being publicly visible as a representative of OpenRouter.
• The ideal candidate should be based in the Bay Area or willing to travel regularly for events.
• Experience with building automations or lightweight tools for community listening and sentiment tracking is a plus.
• Experience in organizing or scaling in-person community events and meetups across different cities or regions is a plus.
• Familiarity with OpenRouter as a user is a plus.
• Experience creating light content for developer audiences is a plus.
