Staff Data Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, test, and maintain sophisticated statistical, machine learning, and AI models.

• Create supervised and unsupervised models, encompassing regression, classification, clustering, and anomaly detection.

• Analyze extensive structured and unstructured datasets utilizing Python, Pandas, and SQL.

• Assist in the development and implementation of semantic layer architectures.

• Formulate analytical methods, indicators, and models to detect patterns, anomalies, relationships, and potential risks.

• Collaborate directly with investigative and business stakeholders to translate inquiries into analytical strategies and actionable insights.

• Develop and enhance natural language processing solutions, including semantic analysis, OCR, and large language models.

• Create dashboards, visualizations, and analytical products to convey methods, findings, and recommendations.

• Document analytical methodologies, model testing, assumptions, and results comprehensively.

• Work alongside data engineers and technical teams to facilitate analytics and machine learning within cloud settings.

• Engage with government clients during Eastern Time zone business hours.

• Occasionally travel for training and project meetings.

⛳️ Requirements

• All candidates must successfully pass public trust clearance through the U.S. Federal Government.

• Candidates must be U.S. citizens or obtain clearance through the Foreign National Government System.

• Candidates from the Foreign National Government System must have resided in the United States for at least 3 of the last 5 years.

• A valid and unexpired passport from the country of birth along with appropriate VISA/work permit documentation is required for Foreign National Government System clearance.

• Over 10 years of experience in AI/ML, DevOps, development, IT consulting, or other technology-related fields.

• A Master’s degree, Ph.D., or an equivalent advanced degree in Data Science, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related discipline; OR 10+ years of applied experience in a related field.

• Proven hands-on experience in developing advanced AI, machine learning, predictive, and statistical models, including both supervised and unsupervised techniques.

• Proficient hands-on experience with Python, including Pandas.

• Practical experience in supporting the development or implementation of semantic layers.

• Familiarity with modern cloud environments such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.

• SQL experience, including with SQL Server and PostgreSQL.

• Experience in developing and scaling natural language processing solutions.

• Proven ability to present analytical methods and findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders through various formats, including written reports, presentations, dashboards, or visualizations.

• Exceptional command of written and spoken English.

• Expected availability from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern, unless otherwise instructed by the manager.
