This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +18 more states.
• Design, implement, and sustain production ML models, initially focusing on pricing and availability, with plans to expand into forecasting, automation, and optimization.
• Establish foundational principles, infrastructure, and systems to support a scalable data science function.
• Enhance data pipelines, modeling, governance, reliability, and data quality.
• Work collaboratively with executives and cross-functional teams to convert complex data into actionable insights, metrics, and recommendations.
• Foster a culture of experimentation, statistical rigor, and data storytelling.
• Mentor colleagues and contribute to the establishment of a future data science team.
• Integrate elasticity models, demand forecasts, and operator availability logic into the core platform.
• Develop dynamic pricing and matching rules or models to optimize customer price acceptance, operator match rates, supply efficiency, and profitability.
• Create controlled-experiment and monitoring frameworks with KPIs that balance margin, conversion, and operator acceptance.
• Formulate explainable, measurable pricing and availability strategies and dashboards for Product, Sales, Finance, and Operations.
• Create repeatable processes and systems to scale pricing and operator matching beyond one-time analyses.
• Report directly to the Chief Product Officer.
• Over 8 years of experience in data science.
• Proven track record of building and scaling data-driven functions.
• Experience in leading cross-functional teams.
• Demonstrated success in delivering high-impact projects within high-growth or startup environments.
• Practical experience in designing, deploying, and maintaining machine learning models in production settings.
• Familiarity with pricing, demand forecasting, and availability optimization.
• Strong expertise in AI/ML, LLMs, NLP, statistical modeling, experimental design, and advanced analysis techniques.
• Advanced SQL skills in big data environments.
• Proficiency in Python or R for large-scale analysis.
• Solid foundation in data modeling, pipeline development, data quality, and governance.
• Capability to align data science initiatives with overarching business goals.
• Skill in translating complex data into clear strategies and actionable insights.
• Ability to influence at the executive level.
