This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take full ownership of the internal data platform, encompassing Snowflake architecture, sizing, costs, dbt transformations, and Dagster orchestration standards.

• Manage ingestion tools, including Fivetran, Sling, dlt, and AWS DMS.

• Oversee reverse ETL processes utilizing Hightouch and Census.

• Control warehouse access and ensure security protocols are in place.

• Create systems aimed at minimizing cross-team dependencies and ingestion debt, employing a robust change-data-capture strategy.

• Ensure platform reliability, manage Dagster alerting, maintain data quality, and oversee costs.

• Address the backlog of deferred data, including one-off ingestion, enablement projects, and growth-related data tasks.

• Collaborate with engineering on pipelines that carry SLAs, such as billing and consumption pricing.

• Utilize Dagster on a daily basis and provide insights back to the product team.

• Report directly to the Head of Engineering.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience at a staff level in data platform management; capable of establishing architecture across organizations and engaging with stakeholders independently.

• Extensive production experience with dbt and a contemporary cloud warehouse.

• Familiarity with a modern orchestrator; experience with Dagster is advantageous.

• Practical experience with managed ingestion and reverse ETL tools.

• Self-motivated and skilled at transforming ambiguous business requests into well-defined, prioritized tasks.

• Comfortable contributing in an open environment on a public codebase.

• Must possess authorization to work in the United States of America.
