This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design, develop, and sustain high-throughput, event-driven data services and orchestration pipelines utilizing Python, Airflow, and Snowflake.
• Architect and enhance scalable, secure, and extensible components for the data pipeline platform.
• Revamp legacy ingestion pipelines through Change Data Capture (CDC) and Kafka event streaming.
• Collaborate on DataOps best practices, encompassing data modeling, CI/CD, unit testing, and validation frameworks.
• Establish and advocate for data engineering standards and best practices throughout the organization.
• Review the work of fellow engineers and offer implementation guidance.
• Increase the volume of recurring engineering tasks managed by agents while setting up guardrails for safe AI usage.
• Contribute to shaping the data governance strategy, ensuring safe and consistent access to tools and AI assistants for data.
• Oversee the cost efficiency and stewardship of Snowflake and pipeline infrastructure.
• Mentor both data engineers and data analytics engineers.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives that encompass infrastructure, data services, and observability.
• Work alongside product and engineering teams to address complex user-facing and system-level challenges.
• Create and maintain secure, compliant, and well-governed data systems utilizing role-based access controls and data lifecycle management.
• 8–12+ years of experience in engineering roles, including 3–5+ years in data engineering at a senior, architect, or staff level working on end-to-end data platforms.
• Extensive experience with Snowflake or a comparable data storage solution.
• Familiarity with distributed and non-distributed, structured and unstructured data stores, such as RDS, MySQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB, Redis, and S3.
• Advanced SQL proficiency, including the ability to write and optimize complex queries against large-scale, high-cardinality datasets.
• Significant experience with Airflow or a similar orchestration tool.
• Proven track record in writing high-throughput services using Python.
• Experience with high-volume, event-driven architecture, including CDC and distributed event streaming technologies like Kafka.
• Knowledge of API design patterns such as REST and SOAP.
• Strong DataOps expertise, including data modeling, CI/CD pipelines, source control, unit testing frameworks, and data validation frameworks.
• Experience implementing observability through monitoring and alerting.
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.
• Experience in designing or promoting the adoption of agentic or AI-assisted development workflows.
• Proven experience in establishing engineering standards or best practices that are adopted across teams or organizations.
