Software Engineer – Data Products, AI Applications

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Create and develop a high-level application utilizing Databricks Apps

• Convert stakeholder requirements into a functional product

• Construct BI-style visualizations and reporting elements tailored for an executive audience

• Contribute to product strategy by managing a prioritized backlog of use cases

• Assist in defining the scope for future implementation phases

• Engage in client workshops and participate in weekly status updates

• Relay technical progress to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

• Leverage AI/ML capabilities where applicable to improve the application

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 4 years of experience in software engineering, with some background in data engineering or data products

• Proficient in full-stack development, including APIs, CI/CD, and front-end technologies such as React, NextJS, or Typescript

• Experience in developing internal tools, dashboards, or applications leveraging data platforms

• Familiarity with Databricks Apps is highly advantageous

• Knowledge of low-code/no-code application frameworks like Retool, Streamlit, or Power Apps is a plus

• Comfortable using BI tools, with a preference for Power BI

• Understanding of AI/ML concepts and their application in practical, product-focused scenarios

• Excellent communication skills suitable for a client-facing consulting role

• Candidates must reside in Canada

• Experience in the energy, mining, or other industrial/resource sectors is considered a bonus
