This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop the architecture for an event-driven pipeline that transfers Partner data from the HFPP warehouse to deployed fraud signals and Partner alerts.
• Create data flows, integrate warehouse and HFPP Portal analytics extensions, and make architectural decisions regarding AWS and Snowflake.
• Take ownership of the pipeline architecture and approve significant architectural modifications.
• Set standards for scalability, failure handling, and the onboarding process for new fraud signals.
• Construct proof-of-concept integrations and the most intricate components of the event-driven pipeline.
• Design within the constraints of data security and PII/PHI guidelines established by a dedicated compliance team.
• Collaborate with the Data Science team to incorporate approved fraud-signal logic into the pipeline.
• Monitor government review and approval timelines to ensure the architecture can incorporate new signals as planned.
• Report to analytic leadership and liaise with technical and investigative teams.
• Partner with a Data Engineer responsible for building and maintaining the pipeline.
• A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Over 8 years of experience in designing and managing production data architecture.
• Proven experience in building and operating at least one event-driven or streaming pipeline at significant scale.
• Extensive hands-on experience with AWS and Snowflake.
• Experience in designing event-driven ingestion patterns that feed into a warehouse-native scoring/analytics layer.
• Proficient in Python and SQL.
• Expertise in designing systems under data security/compliance regulations, including PII/PHI or similar sensitive data.
• Experience collaborating with a separate security function rather than managing security policies.
• Proven ability to establish or evaluate architectural standards for other engineers.
• Comfortable working autonomously in a fully remote setting with sign-off authority and no direct reports.
• Experience with healthcare claims data or other highly regulated and scrutinized data domains is preferred.
• Experience in designing alerting/notification systems connected to customer or partner-facing portals is preferred.
• Experience with fraud or anomaly-detection pipelines is preferred.
• Experience in presenting architectural decisions to government or compliance reviewers is preferred.
• Travel is limited to less than 10%.
