This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Establish the technical vision and ensure design consistency throughout the entire Ads Data Engineering organization.
• Address cross-domain design challenges and assist teams in adopting scalable solutions.
• Collaborate with the Ads DE director and DE managers as a senior technical authority.
• Align technical strategies with broader business objectives.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to data engineers across the organization.
• Facilitate the adoption of AI and emerging tools and technologies among engineers.
• Partner with senior engineers from the data platform and D&I teams.
• Contribute to initiatives that span horizontal and platform-wide efforts.
• Define the characteristics of AI-native data engineering within Ads DE.
• Act as the primary technical representative with Ads Platform Engineering, Ads Data Science, and Product.
• Over 15 years of experience building data foundations, backend systems, or data engineering solutions.
• Familiarity with advertising or ad-tech data.
• Proven experience leading technical direction across organizational boundaries and in multiple roles or companies.
• Experience with significant platform migrations or developing data products from inception to maturity.
• Proficient in designing data as a product with an emphasis on user experience, quality, and measurable outcomes.
• Background in building data privacy and governance frameworks.
• Comprehensive understanding of modern data stacks, including ingestion, processing, storage, and serving.
• Knowledge of ad-tech systems and data flows, particularly in bidding, measurement, or attribution.
• Experience with large-scale distributed data systems such as Spark, Kafka, or columnar databases.
• Awareness of AI and agentic technologies as they relate to data engineering.
• A graduate degree in Computer Science with a focus on data is advantageous.
• Experience in formally mentoring engineers on their technical development is a plus.
