This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Oversee and enhance the performance, security, and availability of PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and Oracle databases.

• Develop and manage database schemas, indexes, and partitions to ensure scalability and efficiency.

• Conduct database monitoring, backups, recovery processes, and planning for disaster recovery.

• Enforce access control, encryption, auditing, and other best practices for security.

• Diagnose and resolve database performance challenges while optimizing query execution.

• Ensure adherence to data governance, security policies, and relevant industry standards.

• Comprehend business requirements and convert them into actionable tasks in data engineering.

• Engage in daily standups to prioritize tasks effectively.

• Facilitate daily standups and oversee team workload alignment with business objectives.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support Power BI and data solutions that align with organizational goals.

• Guide team members and promote best practices in data management and reporting.

• Leverage AI and automation to enhance software delivery, testing, reliability, and operational efficiency.

• Articulate technical solutions clearly to stakeholders.


⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive expertise in PostgreSQL database administration, covering performance tuning, security, and backup/recovery.

• Proven experience in managing PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and Oracle databases.

• Familiarity with database schemas, indexes, and partitions.

• Proficient in database monitoring, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.

• Knowledgeable in access control, encryption, auditing, data governance, security policies, and industry standards.

• Capable of troubleshooting database performance issues and enhancing query performance.

• Exceptional communication and leadership abilities with both technical and non-technical teams.

• Competent in prioritizing and managing a team’s workload while aligning with business goals.

• Strong problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.

• Hands-on experience with contemporary AI models and developer tools.

• Skilled in utilizing AI for PostgreSQL performance tuning, database reliability assessment, migration planning, and operational runbook automation.

• Experience in applying AI to testing workflows, including generating test scenarios, expanding regression coverage, and identifying edge cases.

• Demonstrated ability to implement practical automation while ensuring quality, security, and auditability.

• Proficient in evaluating AI output quality, selecting suitable models/tools, and employing secure techniques for sensitive data.

• Proven record of achieving measurable efficiency improvements.

• Willingness to work during US EST hours.
