This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alaska, +6 more states.
• Conduct analysis of clinical data utilizing knowledge in healthcare and database management.
• Recognize and report on trends within clinical data.
• Create and develop modern data-focused software applications that support clinical and operational functions within the healthcare system.
• Construct data pipelines, execute transformations, enhance data processes, establish provisioning layers, and design user interfaces.
• Utilize cloud computing, big data, data science, and contemporary software development methodologies and frameworks.
• Provide mentorship and support to junior Data Engineers.
• Engage in research and the development of innovative technologies.
• Create standardized processes or templates for Data Engineers.
• Foster collaboration, ensure meticulous source control, and maintain thorough documentation.
• Generate straightforward solutions to intricate issues using modern and emerging techniques and tools.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Platform, and Architecture teams on shared initiatives.
• A bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering.
• At least 5 years of experience as a Senior Data Engineer.
• Preferred: A master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering.
• Preferred: 8 years of data development experience.
• Preferred: Proficiency in advanced Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Flink, and NoSQL platforms.
• Preferred: Expertise in advanced SQL, Python, and Linux-based processing.
• Preferred: Knowledge of OLAP and cloud data warehousing, including Snowflake, Synapse, Redshift, BigQuery, and dimensional models.
• Preferred: Experience with unstructured and multimodal data engineering, including EHR/EMR, HL7, FHIR, APIs, and clinical notes.
• Preferred: Familiarity with modern application development frameworks, such as FastAPI and Flask.
• Preferred: Experience with modern ETL/ELT tools, including ADF, Glue, Airflow, dbt, NiFi, Informatica, and Fivetran.
• Preferred: Knowledge in AI/ML, LLM, and prompt engineering, including LLM pipelines, RAG, LangChain/LlamaIndex, embeddings, and vector databases.
