Staff Cybersecurity Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and sustain detection and response capabilities across the enterprise utilizing SIEM, XRD, and Threat Intelligence platforms.

• Create and refine threat detection rules through scripting and configuration of platforms.

• Assess and improve the security posture of identity and access management platforms.

• Review and enhance endpoint security posture in partnership with end-user support.

• Perform risk assessments of applications and SaaS providers.

• Analyze and upgrade the Data Loss Prevention (DLP) platform.

• Assess and strengthen network security posture in collaboration with technology teams.

• Evaluate and enhance cloud security posture in conjunction with technology teams.

• Lead or assist in incident response activities related to cyber events.

• Facilitate employee security awareness training as needed.

• Engage in continuous monitoring, detection, response, and prevention activities.

• Promote automation and analytics to bolster secure operations across the enterprise.

• Collaborate with D-Wave teams to enhance security posture and foster security awareness.

• Report directly to the Vice President of Enterprise Security.

• Provide support for 24/7 threat detection, incident response, vulnerability management, system security, and enterprise resilience.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity or information technology, or equivalent experience is required.

• Industry security certifications are preferred but not mandatory.

• A minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity; global responsibility is preferred.

• Profound knowledge, development, and practical operation of Microsoft 365 capabilities, including the security stack.

• Experience in leading incident response teams during technical incidents.

• Familiarity with using Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solutions for monitoring and incident response.

• Proven experience in conducting ad-hoc security education during interactions.

• Capability in troubleshooting endpoints and identities to detect and resolve issues.

• Experience in performing application and SaaS risk evaluations, along with providing compensating controls and recommendations.

• A defensive security mindset.
