Staff Clinical Informatics Data Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Manage the planning, design, and implementation of data modeling, normalization, and transformation processes.

• Lead the modeling of healthcare data and the mapping of source data to FHIR, OMOP, and STDM standards.

• Supervise ingestion strategies for healthcare data sourced from multiple origins, utilizing FHIR, HL7, and X12 ED protocols.

• Design and oversee the development of robust, efficient, and reliable data pipelines capable of handling large data volumes.

• Advocate for data quality initiatives and establish standards and processes to ensure data reliability and accuracy.

• Promote collaboration between technical and non-technical teams, translating complex concepts into actionable insights.

• Encourage the exploration and integration of emerging technologies and methodologies, including machine learning and artificial intelligence.

• Create architectural designs, normalization, and harmonization documentation for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Address complex, high-impact data challenges while minimizing disruptions to essential operations.

• Lead efforts in data design and model development using SQL, Python, R, dbt, Jupyter Notebook, cloud platforms, and Git.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a medical-related field, along with a Master's degree in Clinical Informatics.

• At least 8 years of experience as a clinical informaticist, data architect, or data integration engineer within the Healthcare or Life Sciences sectors.

• Proven expertise in established healthcare standards, controlled terminologies (including SNOMED, LOINC, and RxNorm), standard data models (such as FHIR, OMOP, etc.), and healthcare interoperability standards and frameworks like HL7, NCPDP, and CCD-A.

• Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, R, dbt, ETL tools, and Jupyter Notebook.

• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms, version control systems (e.g., Git), and collaborative development tools.
