Staff Auditor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Conduct audit fieldwork and associated accounting tasks with a focus on quality, thorough documentation, testing, and adherence to deadlines.

• Prepare and organize work papers efficiently.

• Assist in delivering financial statement and single audit results under the guidance of senior and leadership personnel.

• Collaborate with a remote colleague as a committed remote team.

• Proactively engage with clients and internal team members via email, phone, and video conferencing.

• Ensure that engagements progress at a faster pace than the typical timelines seen in larger firms.

• Utilize audit research and AI tools as brainstorming resources while maintaining accountability for judgment, testing, and conclusions drawn.

• Take responsibility for assigned sections, escalate issues thoughtfully, and ensure follow-through without needing constant oversight.

• Develop senior-level readiness by enhancing ownership, producing cleaner work products, and providing support to others over time.

⛳️ Requirements

• Approximately 18-24 months of experience in public accounting or a firm.

• Experience with non-profit audits is preferred.

• Familiarity with financial statement audits and/or single audits is advantageous.

• An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to deliver clear updates, maintain organized documentation, and communicate effectively when facing challenges in a remote setting.

• Self-motivated individual capable of managing a substantial workload alongside a remote partner while staying aligned with firm leadership.

• Highly organized and focused on meeting deadlines.

• Eager to progress rapidly into more significant roles and responsibilities.

• Capacity to critically assess risk, testing, and conclusions instead of accepting tool outputs at face value.
