This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
β’ Develop and manage the fundamental BI platform that facilitates reporting, analytics, self-service capabilities, and AI functionalities.
β’ Take ownership of data ingestion, integration, and overall platform architecture.
β’ Create and sustain enterprise data models, reusable business logic, and definitions for the semantic layer.
β’ Set benchmarks for data quality, testing, governance, observability, documentation, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD).
β’ Oversee the health of the analytics platform, detect pipeline failures and recurring issues, and implement scalable solutions.
β’ Evaluate and validate data pipelines, data models, semantic layer definitions, and data products.
β’ Guide Analytics Engineers through code and design reviews while promoting engineering best practices.
β’ Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in analytics engineering or a related technical data analytics role.
β’ Ideally, experience within a SaaS or high-tech environment.
β’ Proficient in SQL at an expert level.
β’ Extensive experience in data modeling and the ability to craft efficient queries.
β’ At least 6 years of practical experience in building, deploying, and maintaining modular production data pipelines utilizing dbt.
β’ Familiarity with production Git workflows, which include branching, merging, and reviewing pull requests.
β’ Experience in automated data quality testing.
β’ Proficient in designing schemas and optimizing query performance on platforms such as Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery.
β’ Experience in implementing data observability platforms.
β’ Experience leveraging AI to enhance dbt workflows and expedite data modeling, testing, documentation, and code development.
β’ Proven experience in designing semantic models and enabling self-service analytics through governed datasets, reusable business logic, and reliable metric definitions.
