Finance Technology Data Solutions Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Develop and maintain Fund Accounting data solutions for a US-based Asset Management client.

• Create data integrations and perform transformations.

• Establish reconciliations and implement data controls.

• Design data products that support fund accounting, investment operations, and financial reporting.

• Operate as an individual contributor rather than in a team lead or architect role.

• Engage directly with US stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of practical experience in data engineering.

• Extensive, recent hands-on experience with Databricks, including Delta Lake, notebooks, and jobs/workflows; Unity Catalog is preferred.

• Familiarity with Fund Accounting processes, including NAV calculation, accruals, corporate actions, fees, and month-end close.

• Proficient in Python and PySpark for large-scale data processing.

• Demonstrated success in delivering data solutions within Financial Services.

• Strongly preferred experience in Asset Management, Investment Management, Fund Administration, Custody, or Capital Markets.

• Experience in building reconciliations and data controls within a finance or regulated setting.

• Working knowledge of investment data, including positions, transactions/trades, security master, pricing, cash, and general ledger.

• Expert-level SQL skills, encompassing complex joins, window functions, and performance optimization.

• Familiarity with at least one cloud platform, such as Azure or AWS.

• Proficient in written and spoken English.

• Comfortable working directly with US stakeholders.

• Databricks Certified Data Engineer or a data engineering certification from Azure/AWS is a plus.

• Experience with Azure Data Factory, Airflow, Databricks Workflows, or Fivetran is advantageous.

• Familiarity with Snowflake, dbt, Power BI, or Tableau is beneficial.

• Experience with CI/CD using Git and Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions; unit testing for data pipelines is a plus.

• A degree in Finance Management combined with BE, BTech, or MCA is an advantage.
