Staff Accountant, Revenue

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Missouri.

📋 Description

• Evaluate both standard and non-standard contracts to ensure efficient operations and adherence to ASC 606.

• Facilitate precise and timely billing that aligns with contractual agreements.

• Leverage automation to enhance ongoing process improvements.

• Investigate and resolve billing issues in collaboration with Sales, Account Management, Revenue Operations, and Collections teams.

• Execute month-end closing tasks, including revenue journal entries, account reconciliations, and SOX controls related to contracts and revenue recognition.

• Analyze revenue and transaction data within NetSuite to detect trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for process enhancement.

• Ensure compliance with revenue recognition policies and internal controls.

• Maintain documentation and processes for revenue accounting.

• Generate reports and deliver data support for internal teams and clients.

• Assist with audits, ad-hoc requests, special projects, and various inquiries.

• Collaborate across Finance, Sales, and Operations departments.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (mandatory).

• 1-3 years of experience in revenue accounting, general accounting, or a related field.

• Familiarity with NetSuite is preferred.

• Understanding of revenue recognition principles (ASC 606) and month-end closing processes.

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.

• Capability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to work autonomously while also collaborating with cross-functional teams.

• Willingness to learn and develop within a revenue accounting role.
