This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.
• Act as the main accounting contact for around nine inpatient rehabilitation facilities.
• Deliver continuous financial and accounting support to the leadership of the facilities.
• Oversee the complete general ledger closing process, which includes close checklists, journal entries, account reconciliations, post-close reviews, and necessary certifications.
• Prepare and examine journal entries along with their supporting documentation.
• Conduct thorough analysis of the profit and loss statement and balance sheet.
• Detect unusual trends or discrepancies and investigate and rectify accounting issues.
• Uphold the integrity of the facility balance sheets through reconciliations, post-close evaluations, and periodic reviews.
• Collaborate with hospital and operational leadership to deliver financial analysis and clarify monthly results and variances.
• Work alongside LBS Technical Accounting and other Finance teams on intricate or facility-specific accounting issues.
• Assist in the annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Manage facility-specific accounting and reporting tasks, which may include joint venture accounting, regulatory reporting, tax-related filings, escheatment submissions, and license renewals.
• Ensure the presence of appropriate internal controls and deliver accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting.
• Identify chances to enhance and standardize accounting processes.
• Handle competing priorities and deadlines across multiple facilities during month-end and year-end closings.
• Maintain consistent and dependable attendance and perform other assigned duties.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• Over 3 years of progressive accounting experience, showing responsibility for the financials of multiple facilities, entities, or business units.
• Strong experience in general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliations, month-end closings, and financial statement analysis.
• Proven capability to analyze P&L and balance sheet activities, investigate variances, and effectively communicate financial results.
• Experience in managing several priorities, deadlines, and financial close requirements at once.
• Solid working knowledge of accounting principles, internal controls, and financial reporting procedures.
• Ability to work independently, take charge of assigned facilities, and proactively address and resolve accounting issues.
• Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
• Capacity to effectively collaborate with facility and operational leadership.
• Willingness to work additional evening and weekend hours during month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing periods as business needs dictate.
• CPA designation preferred, though not mandatory.
• Experience in healthcare, hospital, inpatient rehabilitation, or other multi-site accounting preferred.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
