This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Conduct daily accounting and bookkeeping tasks for various client accounts.
β’ Classify and document transactions in QuickBooks Online and other cloud-based accounting platforms.
β’ Execute reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, balance sheets, and other financial accounts.
β’ Assist in the monthly closing processes and the preparation of precise financial statements.
β’ Create and record journal entries, including those for accruals, depreciation, payroll adjustments, and other essential entries.
β’ Investigate, troubleshoot, and address accounting discrepancies and issues specific to clients.
β’ Ensure financial records are accurate and well-organized, and support historical accounting cleanup projects when required.
β’ Collect financial data and documentation for tax, advisory, and other client-related requirements.
β’ Maintain proactive communication with Accounting Managers and team members to resolve inquiries, acquire missing information, and advance client projects.
β’ Oversee multiple client accounts, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines.
β’ Contribute to the documentation and enhancement of accounting workflows and internal systems.
β’ Undertake additional accounting duties and projects as assigned by the Accounting Manager.
β’ Report directly to an Accounting Manager and collaborate closely with the accounting team to meet daily client demands.
β’ A Bachelor's degree in Accounting is preferred; an associate degree or substantial relevant accounting experience may substitute for a bachelor's degree.
β’ Approximately 3β5 years of pertinent accounting experience.
β’ Strong knowledge of accrual accounting and monthly closing procedures.
β’ Proficient in QuickBooks Online and capable of learning other cloud-based accounting systems.
β’ Ability to independently investigate and resolve accounting challenges.
β’ Solid experience in reconciliations and journal entries.
β’ Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
β’ Ability to handle multiple clients, priorities, and deadlines effectively.
β’ Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
β’ Comfortable working autonomously in a fully remote setting while remaining highly collaborative with the team.
β’ A proactive, solutions-oriented, and team-first attitude.
β’ Experience with multi-entity businesses, sales tax compliance, certified payroll, insurance retainage, or other accounting systems is advantageous.
β’ Healthcare stipend: Up to $450/month for full-time employees, with a partial stipend available for those working between 24 and 40 hours per week.
β’ Employer-paid short- and long-term disability insurance for employees working over 30 hours per week, effective from the hire date.
β’ 401(k) retirement plan available through Human Interest for all employees; currently, there is no employer match.
β’ Paid time off: 10 days annually for employees with 0β5 years of service, increasing to 15 days after 5 years.
β’ Five fixed office-closure days each year.
