This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.
⢠Take ownership of key aspects of the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process, which includes journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and the preparation of supporting schedules.
⢠Lead the development of an accounting automation roadmap: identify and prioritize valuable opportunities, create and implement solutions utilizing AI tools, assess time and cycle-time savings, and continuously enhance these solutions while ensuring proper controls and auditability.
⢠Develop automations that are well-documented, controlled, and maintainable by the wider accounting team; provide training to colleagues on new workflows.
⢠Assist in managing sales tax and VAT compliance, which includes Avalara setup and maintenance, reconciliations, multi-state filings, and collaboration with external advisors.
⢠Support revenue recognition and deferred revenue processes, while overseeing accrued expenses, prepaid accounts, as well as entries related to commissions, bonuses, and payroll.
⢠Manage fixed assets, depreciation schedules, and lease accounting, and prepare relevant journal entries and reconciliations for FamilyWall, the French subsidiary.
⢠Compile audit schedules and support the annual financial statement audit, internal control documentation, and tax compliance efforts.
⢠Aid in the preparation of monthly financial statements, management and board reports, variance analysis, cash flow reporting, and departmental reporting.
⢠Collaborate across functions with FP&A, HR, Payroll, and Sales Operations to enhance financial processes, reporting, and scalability.
⢠Provide assistance and backup for Accounts Payable and the review and approval of expense reimbursements.
⢠Safeguard the integrity of financial records and redesign accounting processes to reduce manual work, accelerate the close process, and facilitate scalable growth.
⢠A minimum of 3 years of experience in an accounting position, with practical experience in preparing account reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting the monthly close process.
⢠Bachelor's degree in Accounting; a CPA or Master's degree in Accounting or Finance is an advantage.
⢠Comprehensive understanding of US GAAP and experience with sales tax compliance.
⢠Proficiency in Oracle/NetSuite, Avalara, and advanced Excel skills (including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, SUMIFS; Power Query is a plus).
⢠Proven track record of personally developing or implementing automation that has enhanced an accounting or finance process; candidates should be ready to discuss their projects, their functionality, and the measurable outcomes.
⢠Practical experience in creating repeatable workflows utilizing various AI tools, SQL, Python, APIs, or workflow automation platforms.
⢠Strong skills in financial statement analysis.
⢠Experience in a SaaS company is a plus.
