This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Assist in the complete order-to-cash process, from winning deals to cash collection and revenue recognition.
• Examine signed orders for billing precision, including pricing, terms, billing schedules, and start dates prior to invoicing.
• Reconcile order-to-cash information between DealHub (CPQ), CRM, and ERP, and investigate any discrepancies at the source.
• Handle contract modifications, amendments, upgrades, and cancellations through to billing and deferred revenue.
• Identify recurring billing issues and contribute to enhancing upstream processes.
• Manage the billing inbox as the primary responder for inquiries regarding invoices, purchase orders, remittance requests, disputes, W-9 forms, and vendor portal submissions.
• Address billing issues, resolve them directly when possible, and escalate matters that need contract or pricing input.
• Monitor open billing issues until they are resolved.
• Collaborate with Customer Success on billing, renewal, and contract inquiries.
• Create and distribute invoices; record cash receipts.
• Conduct collections outreach and manage accounts receivable aging.
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, prepaids, and account reconciliations for the monthly closing process.
• Maintain schedules and supporting documentation for audits and due diligence.
• Assist with sales tax filings and routine compliance reporting.
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of closing checklists and process documentation.
• Report to the Finance Manager and collaborate closely with Sales Operations and Customer Success.
• 2–3 years of accounting experience; experience with SaaS or subscription billing is a significant advantage.
• Understanding of ASC 606 revenue recognition principles.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
• Strong knowledge of accrual accounting and month-end closing processes.
• Experience managing a shared inbox or a high-volume customer-facing queue.
• Excellent professional written communication skills.
• Proven ability to work efficiently in a remote or distributed team, demonstrating self-direction to meet tight deadlines without direct supervision.
• Proficient in Excel or Google Sheets: including lookups, pivot tables, and reconciling large data sets.
• Familiarity with a cloud ERP system (NetSuite, Sage Intacct, QuickBooks) and willingness to learn new systems.
• Reliable home internet and a workspace that ensures the confidentiality of financial information.
• Coursework toward CPA certification.
• Experience with ERP implementation or migration.
