Staff Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oklahoma.

📋 Description

• Manage the daily accounting operations of an expanding, private equity-supported SaaS organization, encompassing daily cash and card transactions, accounts payable, invoicing, collections, and month-end closure.

• Document and categorize bank and corporate credit card transactions to the appropriate general ledger account, department, and project.

• Allocate customer payments to outstanding invoices and investigate and resolve unidentified deposits and coding discrepancies.

• Input and classify vendor invoices, facilitate their approval process, onboard suppliers, track due dates, address inquiries, and reconcile vendor statements.

• Oversee the expense management system and compile bi-weekly expense reimbursement and per diem records for payroll processing.

• Generate monthly customer invoices, manage accounts receivable aging, carry out collections outreach, record collection notes, and escalate potentially at-risk balances.

• Prepare assigned balance sheet reconciliations with the necessary supporting documentation and resolve reconciling items.

• Create PBC schedules, provide supporting documentation, and respond for the annual external audit.

• Collaborate with the Controller and VP of Finance on ad hoc analyses and special projects.

• Report directly to the Corporate Controller and engage closely with the VP of Finance.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting is preferred, or equivalent experience may be considered.

• 2–4 years of accounting experience, with a focus on hands-on accounts payable and accounts receivable processing.

• Proficient in NetSuite – capable of operating independently within the system from the outset.

• Experience in preparing balance sheet reconciliations with adequate supporting documentation.

• Solid understanding of US GAAP accrual accounting principles.

• Advanced Excel skills (including pivot tables, lookups, and reconciliation tasks).
