This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.
• Oversee daily accounting tasks related to transactions, which includes sales, banking, and various account reconciliations.
• Supervise inventory management, accruals, prepaid expenses, equity accounting, as well as accounts receivable and payable.
• Ensure adherence to critical deadlines set by clients.
• Execute and prepare payroll processes.
• Handle expense reimbursement preparations.
• Communicate and clarify transactions and processes with clients, whether in group settings or individual meetings.
• Identify and address potential risks, concerns, or issues related to client files.
• Maintain accounting documentation through effective data entry and file management practices.
• Prepare complex sales and use tax returns.
• Guarantee compliance with applicable reporting standards.
• Maintain and update charts of accounts.
• Monitor and manage fixed asset records.
• Prepare and review 1099 filings.
• Assist in the preparation or review of financial statements.
• Identify issues and provide status updates to team members or Partners.
• Represent the Firm in a professional manner.
• Adhere to Firm regulations, ethical standards, and the requirements set by governing bodies.
• Develop a thorough understanding of clients' business practices.
• Collaborate across departments to achieve project objectives and tasks.
• Associate's Degree in Accounting.
• A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
• Proficient computer skills and familiarity with various accounting software, including Microsoft Office Suite.
• In-depth understanding of all aspects of the general ledger, including reconciliations and month-end/year-end closing procedures.
• Knowledge of GAAP principles.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, with the capability to lead client and team meetings.
• Aptitude for creatively solving problems and analyzing client data.
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is preferred.
• Experience with QuickBooks (either desktop or online) and/or other general ledger software is preferred.
