Staff Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Evaluate source documentation to verify that revenue is accurately calculated and recorded.

• Oversee accounts payable tasks, including vendor onboarding, invoice processing, and ensuring timely payments.

• Keep vendor records up to date, including W-9 documentation, while ensuring adherence to company policies.

• Manage employee expense reimbursements and oversee the corporate credit card program.

• Conduct monthly bank account reconciliations and address any discrepancies.

• Assist with month-end closing procedures, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.

• Aid in the preparation and data entry for semi-monthly payroll processing.

• Monitor outstanding accounts and follow up to resolve aged balances.

• Ensure accurate accounting records are maintained and prepare financial reports.

• Support financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting tasks as assigned.

• Utilize accounting software and financial systems to facilitate daily accounting operations.

• Maintain thorough and precise financial records along with supporting documentation.

• Engage in process improvement initiatives and assist with special projects and other assigned responsibilities.

• Collaborate with internal departments and vendors to enhance accounting operations.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting.

• A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.

• Proficient in Excel.

• Familiarity with accounting principles and procedures, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Experience with QuickBooks, Salesforce, Bill.com, and Sage Intacct is preferred.

• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

• Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work autonomously while effectively contributing in a team-oriented environment.

• Good judgment and the capability to maintain confidentiality.

• Compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant laws and regulations.

• Attention to detail and a commitment to quality and accuracy.

• Ability to sit for prolonged periods and work at a computer.

• Occasional standing, walking, or lifting up to 20 pounds may be required.

• Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.
