This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.
• Oversee all accounting functions, ranging from corporate financials to compliance with trust accounting regulations.
• Manage and maintain the corporate general ledger along with financial statements.
• Supervise cash management, intercompany transactions, and internal control processes.
• Prepare monthly financial reports along with variance analyses.
• Assist in strategic planning, cash flow forecasting, and reporting of key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Review and authorize property management accounting entries for accuracy and compliance.
• Reconcile trust bank accounts and ensure compliance with trust accounting standards.
• Audit owner statements, management fees, and reserve balances.
• Supervise internal or external accountants managing property-level financials.
• Oversee owner distributions, management fees, and reserve allocations.
• Review vendor invoices, general ledger coding, and utility billings.
• Audit and reconcile bank accounts and corporate credit cards (Divvy).
• Manage Section 8 and tenant payment postings, refunds, and accounting for move-outs.
• Prepare and distribute 1099 forms and assist with annual tax filings.
• Maintain financial documentation that is audit-ready and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Collaborate with external auditors, CPAs, and vendors as necessary.
• Lead and develop accounting team members or manage outsourced accounting partners.
• Work closely with operations and maintenance teams.
• Participate in monthly financial reviews and provide actionable recommendations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline (CPA preferred).
• Over 5 years of accounting experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in property management or real estate accounting.
• Strong knowledge of trust accounting principles.
• Familiarity with Rentvine or equivalent property management systems.
• Advanced skills in Excel, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• High attention to detail, analytical thinking, and strong organizational abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and handle multiple priorities.
• Proficient in English at a C1 level or higher.
• Willingness to work during U.S. business hours (EST or CST).
• Annual bonus based on performance metrics tied to KPIs.
