Staff Accountant – Accounts Payable

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the complete accounts payable process, ensuring accurate and timely payments to vendors, robust internal controls, and positive interactions for both vendors and internal stakeholders.

• Oversee approval processes, onboard new vendors, manage W-9 forms and payment instructions, handle the A/P email inbox, input vendor invoices in Microsoft Business Central, complete year-end 1099 reporting, manage accruals, and resolve vendor inquiries.

• Supervise employee expense reporting through Chrome River, encompassing employee records, approval workflows, coding reviews, ERP imports, payments, and employee inquiries.

• Assist in the monthly closing procedures, including journal entries and accruals.

• Prepare account reconciliations and supporting subledgers for cash, liabilities, fixed assets, payroll, and additional accounts.

• Support Accounts Receivable functions, which include customer setup, invoice generation, and cash application.

• Provide ad hoc reporting and research; assist the Controller and CFO with requests, acquisition due diligence, audits, state and local filings, and other projects.

• Address business inquiries regarding expenses categorized within the P&L.

• Recognize opportunities to automate, streamline, and enhance accounting processes, controls, and reporting.

• Participate in preparing and analyzing monthly operating results, including investigations of budget-to-actual and forecast variances.

• Uphold strong internal controls, documentation, and accounting procedures.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, preferably in accounting or finance.

• At least 2 years of accounting experience, with a focus on AP/AR.

• Familiarity with GAAP and fundamental accounting principles.

• Strong analytical, Excel, and problem-solving capabilities.

• Experience with enterprise-level accounting software (knowledge of Microsoft Business Central is a plus).

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; quick to respond to inquiries.

• Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to identify errors and inconsistencies.

• Collaborative team player with the capability to work independently.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks while ensuring high-quality standards.

• Outstanding time management and organizational skills.

• Capacity to work effectively in a fully remote setting while maintaining strong communication and responsiveness.
