SRE – Platform Infrastructure Engineer Intern

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Assist in the development, maintenance, and enhancement of infrastructure systems utilizing Kubernetes and AWS.

• Oversee system performance and aid in resolving production and staging challenges.

• Work towards enhancing observability by utilizing tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or similar applications.

• Automate repetitive tasks and enhance developer workflows through scripting or tools.

• Engage in on-call shadowing and incident reviews to gain insights into managing reliability in production systems.

• Collaborate with engineers to pinpoint bottlenecks and enhance system performance and scalability.

• Contribute to documentation and assist in maintaining operational runbooks.

• Investigate and experiment with AI and automation tools to boost engineering productivity.

• Collaborate closely with seasoned engineers to support infrastructure, enhance reliability, and contribute to automation and tooling endeavors.

⛳️ Requirements

• Currently studying or have recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

• Fundamental understanding of cloud platforms (AWS preferred), Linux systems, and networking principles.

• Familiarity with at least one programming language (Golang, Python, or similar).

• Knowledge of basic database concepts (MySQL, PostgreSQL) is advantageous.

• Exposure to containers (Docker) and/or Kubernetes is a bonus.

• Genuine interest in distributed systems, reliability, and infrastructure engineering.

• Strong problem-solving capabilities and eagerness to learn.

• Effective communication skills and the ability to function well within a team environment.

• Proven experience using Claude or equivalent large language model tools is essential; candidates should be comfortable utilizing AI to enhance productivity, research, and communication.

• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.

• Basic understanding of CI/CD principles.

• Exposure to monitoring and logging tools.

• Enthusiasm for automation and developer tooling, including AI-assisted development tools.
