SRE Delivery Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee and guide a team of 6 organized into two pods focusing on SRE and Delivery.

• Offer career advancement and mentoring through regular check-ins and quarterly evaluations.

• Steer independent workstreams for each pod.

• Deliver infrastructure, deployment, and operational assistance to the broader engineering team and business.

• Establish and enforce best practices for delivery, infrastructure reliability, and observability.

• Collaborate with software engineers, designers, and product owners to fulfill deployment, infrastructure, and monitoring requirements.

• Manage on-call rotation and scheduling effectively.

• Ensure that infrastructure and systems function securely in line with industry best practices.

• Assume a player-coach role, dedicating approximately 80% of time to management and 20% to hands-on activities.

• Handle production incidents and direct them to the appropriate parties for mitigation and resolution.

• Provide engineering pods with tools necessary for swift development and iteration.

• Identify security vulnerabilities and address them as needed.

• Keep infrastructure and delivery processes up to date with industry standards, best practices, and technology.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on SRE/devops.

• Proven success in leading teams through architectural changes (e.g., from serverless to EKS).

• Experience in backend service architecture is advantageous (monolith, microservices, etc.).

• Established track record of managing engineering teams.

• In-depth knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

• Familiarity with observability best practices.

• Ability to achieve results in a lean, fast-paced environment.

• Proficiency in the AWS stack, particularly Lambda/serverless and Kubernetes/EKS.

• Strong expertise in Datadog (APM/RUM/Synthetics).

• Experience with GitHub.

• Familiarity with Harness is a plus.

• Proficient with Rootly (or other major on-call, paging toolsets).

• Knowledge of feature-flagging and experimentation platforms such as Launch Darkly.
