Sports Immigration Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nevada.

📋 Description

• Offer guidance on the immigration strategy for employees, talent, and other immigration matters for designated TKO businesses in the Americas.

• Prepare applications for employees and talent within the Americas region.

• Collaborate with external counsel regarding strategy and application preparation.

• Oversee and monitor visa milestones and petition timelines.

• Address requests for evidence or handle immigration appeals.

• Coordinate with international TKO offices concerning visa requirements.

• Partner with the global mobility team for worldwide employee relocations.

• Counsel TKO businesses on immigration issues related to business opportunities.

• Provide insights on immigration aspects of mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.

• Deliver internal updates on visa-processing status and communicate any delays.

• Resolve concerns related to visa processing and escalate issues when required.

• Advise on right-to-work regulations, prevention of illegal work, and I-9 compliance in the Americas.

• Develop and implement immigration compliance processes and policies.

• Manage legal audits and maintain inspection documentation, including public access files.

• Keep immigration case information updated on the INS ZOOM platform.

• Create, implement, and conduct training on immigration policies and programs.

• Perform legal research as needed.

• Lead and supervise immigration specialists, case managers, and paralegals for assigned TKO businesses.

• Execute administrative tasks for the legal group, including maintaining schedules and databases.

• Provide ad hoc assistance to the VP/Head of Immigration.

• Undertake other duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Licensed US attorney with experience in a commercial setting.

• Strong understanding of US immigration law and work authorization issues.

• Familiarity with immigration laws and work authorization matters for the Americas.

• 7-10 years of experience in immigration-related issues.

• Previous experience in immigration matters specifically related to media, sports, and entertainment is preferred.

• Experience with global immigration issues is desirable.

• Exceptional attention to detail.

• Capability to prioritize a diverse and substantial workload while planning ahead.

• Ability to meet deadlines efficiently and accurately.

• Communicate clearly and concisely with both internal and external clients at all levels.

• Demonstrated responsibility and initiative.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.

• Strong negotiation, drafting, analytical, and organizational skills.

• Ability to manage global compliance specialists, case managers, and paralegals.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
