This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +42 more states.
• Oversee the structuring, drafting, and negotiation of intricate insurance distribution arrangements, encompassing agency and aggregator relationships.
• Provide counsel on inbound, outbound, catastrophe, and opportunistic reinsurance transactions.
• Design complex multi-party insurance programs and commercial transactions, including fleet programs, fronting arrangements, deductible structures, collateral agreements, MGA/program administrator relationships, claims administration, and service contracts.
• Coordinate interconnected agreements.
• Assist business partners in translating innovative business models into viable legal and commercial frameworks.
• Collaborate across the organization on strategic and emerging initiatives.
• Contribute to general commercial contracts, intellectual property, and marketing issues.
• Engage in Legal department and company process enhancement initiatives.
• Embrace new tools and methodologies for delivering legal services.
• Support employee resource groups, mentor staff, volunteer, and participate in cross-functional projects.
• Meet business needs, which may involve dedicating extra time and assisting other teams.
• J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school.
• Bar admission in good standing within the state of residency.
• Over 10 years of experience in a pertinent practice area.
• Extensive knowledge of current laws and issues within the area of expertise.
• Proven ability to communicate verbally and in writing in an organized, effective, and timely manner.
• Competence in working in an organized and efficient manner.
• Strong grasp of legal principles with the capability to translate business objectives and challenges into clear legal frameworks and solutions.
• Exceptional communication abilities.
• Strong judgment, initiative, ownership, and capability to influence others.
• Openness to adopting LLMs and various legal service tools.
• Willingness to travel as required for the role, including divisional/team meetings and other face-to-face gatherings.
• Must possess authorization to work indefinitely in the United States.
