Speech Language Pathologist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Develop and implement speech and language therapy for a group of students at Hope Learning Academy, Hope Therapeutic Day Academy, and Hope Vocational Academy in Springfield, IL.

• Actively participate as a member of the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) teams for students.

• Create and execute speech and language IEP objectives.

• Support and motivate teachers and staff to foster and enhance functional communication during various daily activities.

• Provide consistent and ongoing services across all programs.

• Conduct speech and language therapy sessions in or out of the classroom, either one-on-one or in groups, as specified in students’ IEPs.

• Draft and implement IEP present levels and goal recommendations.

• Communicate information clearly and effectively during IEP meetings.

• Ensure adherence to all IEP service minutes related to speech and language therapy for the assigned students.

• Order, create, and manage Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices and resources.

• Assist in training teachers and staff on the proper use of AAC devices in both educational and residential environments.

• Design and develop visuals and other assistive tools and devices for educational and/or residential settings.

• Perform formal and informal speech and language evaluations as deemed necessary by the IEP team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology.

• American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) Certificate of Clinical Competence or currently in the Clinical Fellowship Year.

• Illinois Speech Language Pathologist State License required upon hiring.

• Illinois Professional Educator’s License with a Speech Language Pathology endorsement.
