This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Implement AbbVie's brand strategy and tactics in the field.
• Oversee the assigned territory and targeted accounts.
• Cultivate strong customer relationships and address customer needs to enhance both short- and long-term sales performance.
• Achieve sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives.
• Create pre-call plans utilizing SMART objectives and perform post-call assessments.
• Address objections, misunderstandings, and concerns, while securing calls to action to finalize sales calls.
• Address customer needs and foster trusted customer relationships.
• Develop and implement call plans that meet call metrics and optimize coverage and frequency.
• Gain insights into customer needs, territory market dynamics, competitors, market segments, accounts, disease states, products, clinical information, and sales practices.
• Share market intelligence with in-field, brand, and sales management teams.
• Distinguish AbbVie's value proposition with designated health providers.
• Identify, cultivate, and maintain relationships with disease-state experts and speakers/advocates.
• Travel approximately 20% of the time and attend scheduled training events and sales meetings.
• Bachelor's degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or a business-related field is preferred, or relevant equivalent industry experience is required.
• If lacking a bachelor's degree: at least five years of relevant and equivalent industry experience, with three or more years in the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred.
• A high school diploma/GED is required when using equivalent industry experience instead of a bachelor's degree.
• Proactively recognizes customer styles/behaviors and adjusts selling techniques accordingly.
• Extensive scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge.
• Strong business acumen and proficient use of business tools.
• Capable of strategic and critical thinking.
• Ability to function effectively in a matrix environment.
• Documented achievements in leadership and support roles of increasing responsibility.
• Proven sales performance in relevant therapeutic areas preferred.
• Experience in the commercial pharmaceutical industry preferred.
• Proficiency in the English language, both verbal and written.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening test and meet safe driving standards.
• Capability to travel sufficiently to cover the territory, including overnight training events and sales meetings.
• Ability to operate a personal vehicle, company car or truck, or powered material handling equipment.
• Must meet applicable HCIR credentialing requirements and be in good standing or eligible to obtain these credentials.
• Background checks, drug screenings, proof of immunizations/vaccinations, fingerprinting, and specific state or city licenses may be required.
