This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Represent Amgen products to healthcare professionals and physicians.
• Manage product sales and oversee total territory account management.
• Provide information and education on diseases to medical professionals and external customers involved in patient care.
• Meet assigned sales objectives through patient-focused disease and product education while complying with corporate guidelines.
• Execute marketing-plan objectives through strategic account business planning.
• Collaborate within a matrix environment with Case Managers, Medical Affairs, Patient Access, and other stakeholders.
• Leverage peer-to-peer education and cross-functional resources to fill knowledge gaps.
• Navigate the healthcare landscape and identify opportunities across academic institutions, IDNs, accountable care organizations, private practices, and community hospital systems.
• Build effective relationships with local, regional, and national Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs).
• Cultivate and sustain comprehensive knowledge of diseases, therapeutic areas, clinical practices, and scientific advancements.
• Employ a consultative, highly technical, solution-oriented selling methodology.
• Adhere to corporate policies, documentation, and reporting standards.
• Doctorate degree & 2 years of combined account management, sales, and commercial experience OR Master’s degree & 6 years of combined account management, sales, and commercial experience OR Bachelor’s degree & 8 years of combined account management, sales, and commercial experience OR Associate degree & 10 years of combined account management, sales, and commercial experience.
• 7+ years of experience in biotech, specialty pharmaceuticals, or rare disease sales (preferred).
• 3+ years of experience in rare disease/orphan drug, ultra-orphan, rare disease launch, or nephrology sales (preferred).
• A minimum of 3 years in office injection/infusion sales of a product that is a medical benefit requiring extensive coordination with patient access services.
• Prior experience working in a matrix selling environment, collaborating with patient services, market access, medical affairs, and reimbursement.
• Experience in market development/deep profiling in rare, unmet needs (preferred).
• Proven success in educating HCPs on complex diseases diagnosed through clinical observation.
• Established track record of delivering consistent and exceptional performance levels.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast-paced and highly demanding environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and computer skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills.
• Requires approximately 20-30% travel, including some overnight and weekend obligations.
