Specialized Education Instructor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.

📋 Description

• Deliver legally compliant, specially tailored instruction and compensatory education services as needed for students with active IEPs.

• Design and implement data-driven, individualized lesson plans.

• Focus on reading and literacy, foundational math, executive functioning and organizational skills, as well as functional and adaptive life skills.

• Create, oversee, and track student IEP progress, including case management.

• Work collaboratively with students' IEP teams to coordinate service schedules and customize instructional strategies.

• Conduct screenings and monitor progress regularly.

• Perform formal outcomes assessments to inform instructional decisions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Possession of an active Michigan Special Education teaching license or certification.

• Experience in a school setting providing specially designed instruction.

• Proven ability to work effectively with diverse student populations.

• Excellent collaborative communication skills for engaging with IEP teams, teachers, parents, and students.

• Proficient in conducting virtual services using various meeting platforms.

• Strong knowledge of instructional technology.

• A dedicated, private workspace equipped with secure, high-speed internet.

• Access to a reliable computer and webcam.

• Required availability from Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM–8:00 AM and 3:00 PM–4:45 PM.

• Required availability on Saturdays from 10:00 AM–2:00 PM.

• A commitment to at least 10 hours of availability per week is highly preferred.
