Specialized Education Instructor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maine.

📋 Description

• Deliver virtual teaching to K–12 learners in Maine

• Provide legally compliant specially designed instruction and compensatory education services as needed

• Design and implement data-driven, personalized lesson plans

• Focus on reading and literacy, foundational math, executive functioning, organizational strategies, and functional/adaptive life skills

• Create, manage, and oversee student IEPs, including case management tasks

• Collaborate with students' IEP teams to coordinate service schedules and customize instruction

• Conduct screenings and monitor student progress

• Complete formal outcomes assessments to inform instructional strategies

⛳️ Requirements

• Valid Special Education teaching license/certification

• Experience in a school setting providing specially designed instruction

• Proven ability to work effectively with diverse student populations

• Excellent collaborative communication skills for engaging with IEP teams, educators, parents, and students

• Proficient in delivering virtual services using meeting platforms

• Strong understanding of instructional technology

• Dedicated, private workspace

• Secure, high-speed internet connection

• Reliable computer and webcam

• Availability during standard school hours, approximately 7:30 AM–3:30 PM, Monday–Friday

• Flexibility to adapt to student schedules and service requirements

• For high school services, flexibility to accommodate block or alternating A/B schedules
