Special Projects Deployment Engineer I

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Travel directly to various regional markets to transform raw spaces into fully functional network nodes.

• Physically install, mount, and secure network hardware such as routers, switches, firewalls, out-of-band management equipment, and power distribution units (PDUs).

• Carry out structured cabling using copper (Cat6) and fiber optic (singlemode/multimode) installations.

• Ensure organized cable management, appropriate labeling, and compliance with structural standards.

• Confirm power redundancy, circuit distributions, and thermal cooling alignment prior to energizing critical hardware.

• Conduct site acceptance tests for line-rate throughput, optical power levels, and redundant failover paths before transitioning sites to the Network Operations Center (NOC).

• Serve as the primary technical contact for addressing field failures when remote engineering teams experience connectivity or site visibility issues.

• Utilize OTDRs, optical power meters, and fiber scopes to troubleshoot and repair physical fiber breaks, contaminated patches, and degraded optics.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent hands-on experience.

• 2 years of independent experience in high-pressure field environments with minimal supervision, effectively managing time and logistics.

• Willingness to travel 60–75% of the time within the country.

• Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a clean driving record.

• Capability to lift up to 50 lbs of networking equipment, climb ladders, and work in confined server room environments or telecom closets.

• Flexibility to work occasional non-standard hours or night maintenance windows is preferred.
