Senior DevOps/SRE Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and infrastructure across Azure and AWS platforms.

• Take ownership of observability and monitoring utilizing tools like Datadog or Dynatrace to proactively detect and address issues.

• Minimize MTTR through enhanced incident management, runbooks, and automated remediation processes.

• Provision and oversee infrastructure as code using Terraform.

• Create automation scripts in Python, Bash, or PowerShell to optimize operational workflows.

• Work collaboratively with development teams across VA programs to tackle engineering challenges and enhance platform stability.

• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the establishment of DevOps standards and best practices within the team.

• Perform additional related tasks as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or cloud infrastructure engineering.

• Practical experience with Azure and AWS cloud environments.

• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog or Dynatrace.

• Expertise in Terraform and infrastructure-as-code methodologies.

• Strong scripting capabilities in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.

• Knowledge of the VA ecosystem, including VA Platform, GitHub enterprise practices, or VA.gov standards, is advantageous.

• Flourishes in a remote, cooperative Agile setting.

• Communicates effectively and transparently, whether drafting a runbook or liaising with stakeholders during an incident.

• Authorized to work in the United States.

• Some positions may require U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a federal background investigation and/or security clearance.

• Bachelor’s degree.
