This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Supervise and coordinate local and state assessment processes related to special education.

• Act as the primary contact for accommodations in special education testing.

• Manage and oversee accommodations for district assessments, including TELPAS, STAAR, EOCs, and other state-mandated assessments.

• Address escalations regarding testing accommodations and respond to concerns from parents.

• Assist in complex ARD committee decisions and cater to unique accommodation needs.

• Organize at-home testing requests and necessary documentation.

• Submit and monitor reports of testing irregularities involving accommodations.

• Oversee ARDs, transfer student agreements, pending records, and the implementation of accommodations.

• Review supplemental aids and accommodations to ensure compliance with TEA standards.

• Coordinate TEA-approved accommodation requests and communicate outcomes to IEP teams and families.

• Ensure accommodations are accurately reflected in Frontline, TestHound, and related systems.

• Conduct audits of special education testing data and records.

• Track specialized testing needs, printed materials, unique accommodations, and CPI-trained support coverage.

• Coordinate testing schedules and relay finalized schedules to testing sites and stakeholders.

• Maintain resources for testing, including documentation, tracking spreadsheets, and monitoring tools.

• Ensure adherence to TEA guidelines, district procedures, special education regulations, and test-security protocols.

• Provide training, technical assistance, guidance documents, and procedural materials.

• Generate reports on accommodations and analyze trends in testing data and compliance.

• Collaborate with compliance staff, counselors, administrators, testing coordinators, data teams, nurses, service providers, and ARD committees.

• Work alongside lead counselors to monitor graduation requirements and EOC completion.


⛳️ Requirements

• Possession of a valid Special Education Texas Teaching Certificate or an equivalent state educator certification.

• Residency in Texas; residents from states adjacent to Texas may also be considered.

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Special Education, Educational Leadership, Counseling, or a related discipline.

• A minimum of three (3) years of experience in Special Education services, compliance, assessment coordination, or similar educational roles.

• Experience in ARD/IEP processes and accommodation planning.

• Familiarity with federal and state special education laws and regulations.

• Knowledge of Texas Education Agency (TEA) assessment policies and accommodation guidelines.

• Understanding of ARD/IEP processes and documentation requirements.

• Proficient knowledge of state and local assessment administration procedures.

• Awareness of test security and confidentiality protocols.

• Insight into special education compliance and monitoring procedures.

• Knowledge of assistive technology and accommodation supports for students with disabilities.

• Excellent organizational and project management abilities.

• Skills in data analysis and reporting.

• Strong written and verbal communication proficiency.

• Competence in documentation review and auditing.

• Ability to conduct training and presentations.

• Capability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines during peak testing periods.

• Skill in interpreting and applying complex testing regulations and compliance requirements.

• Proficiency in collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data management and monitoring tasks.

• Ability to provide leadership and guidance in intricate accommodation and assessment scenarios.

• Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel).

• Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.

• Ability to pass the required background check.
